It is a good idea to set your own web site as a default one when your browser opens. The default is normal Google but you can either change this or add one or more other windows.


If your own web is one of them it will then be checked every day when your browser opens - it the window can be quickly closed or just type a new address in and use it for your next task.


The method to set this up is generally under your browser settings section or tab. Some common browsers are listed below but a quick Goggle search will help you.


Please note browsers can change – the setting below were current for browsers in Summer 2018


For all browsers

Open the windows you want to start with, this can be just one or several, in the order you want them to display – just make sure on is your own web site to facilitate a dally check that it is up and running.


In Chrome

Open the windows you want to start with, this can be just one or several, in the order you want them to display – just make sure on is your own web site to facilitate a dally check that it is up and running.

Open the Setting (3 vertical dot button top right or browser) and select Settings

Scroll down to On start-up section

Click Open a specific page or set of pages

Select Use Current Page

Close Browser and re-open to check


In Firefox

Open setting – again top right but this time 3 dashes arranged vertically

Select Options

Click Home (left vertical menu)

Under New Windows and tabs select Use Current button

Close window and browser and re-open to test


In Edge

Open setting again top right – 3 horizontal dots

Select Setting

Open Microsoft Edge with and select A specific page or pages

Enter the URL (Cut and paste from the address bar if needed) and Save

Click Add New Page if desired and type or copy and paste in the address and Save – carry on to set up all pages you want to open

Click away to close – close browser and re-open to test
